Linda Ronstadt [born on July 15, 1946] was the most successful female singer of the 1970s. In a career spanning over 40 years, her singing style has straddled a wide variety of genres including country, folk, pop, rock, blues, jazz, gospel, mariachi and light opera.
Her Sun is in Cancer, so she has a great love of home and family but, with her Moon in freedom-loving Aquarius, she has never married. In 1990 and 1994 she adopted two babies [Mary and Carlos] and bought a house in her hometown of Tucson, Arizona. She has always been outspoken on political, community and environmental issues and is an arts advocate; a supporter of sustainable agriculture; and a champion of gay rights and same-sex marriage.
Boho Home … Linda Ronstadt
Linda’s Tucson home is a 1928 pink stucco Mediterranean-style house, full of family photos, keepsakes and second-hand finds, befitting her sentimental Cancerian Sun. Her Venus and Mars are both in Virgo, which explains her earthy, practical, no-frills decorating style. The Cancer/Virgo combination also contributes to her great love of Mother Earth, cooking and gardening [she cures her own olives].
Her Cancer side says “I fell in love with this house when I saw it because it had this tile in the study that reminded me of my father’s room in our old house.”
Her Virgo side declares “I won’t have anything that’s just decorative. Things have to function in my house.”
